The Armadillo self storage group has acquired the 1st Storage business in England. 1st Storage comprises of two established self storage centres in the Newcastle upon Tyne area, England. The acquisition has been completed by the Universal Self Storage Trust No.2’s (USS2) UK Armadillo holding company. This latest acquisition brings to 22 the total number of self storage centres jointly owned by USS2 and Universal Self Storage Unit Trust No.1 (USS1) investment trusts, in conjunction with our UK partner Big Yellow Group.

Universal Self Storage Trust No.2 (USS2) has completed its recently announced Rights Offering raising £3.9m from existing unitholders. Unitholders will be advised of their final allocations via the Investor Portal of the USSFM website. The proceeds of the Rights Offer are to be invested in USS2’s UK Armadillo holding company to assist in the funding of the acquisition of the 1st Storage self storage business.

28 February 2018: USS2 announces a Rights Issue to raise £3.9 million to be used for follow on investment in the UK self storage industry. The details of the entitlement of existing USS2 Unitholders has been emailed to all Unitholders and can be accessed via the Investor Portal.
