Big Yellow Group (BYG) | Big Yellow Group is the UK’s brand leader in self storage. It currently has the highest market share in the UK as measured by self storage capacity, occupied space and revenue. United Kingdom - The Armadillo Strategy:The Armadillo strategy focuses on aggregating a substantial portfolio of established self storage centres in the larger regional centres of England through acquisitions. This strategy will leverage the economies of scale of a common brand and operating platform, whilst capitalising on the local management expertise of BYG to enhance the occupancy and profitability of the Armadillo centres. The USSFM investors and BYG have a strong alignment of interest with BYG, having a 20% shareholding in the portfolio and performance fees linked to maximising total investment returns to investors. The Armadillo strategy is targeting sustainable returns for investors through half-yearly distributions and capital appreciation. |
National Storage (NSR) | National Storage is one of Australasia’s largest self storage providers, tailoring self storage solutions to over 35,000 residential and commercial customers at more than 100 storage centres across Australia and New Zealand. The National Storage offering spans self storage, business storage, records management, climate controlled wine storage, vehicle storage, vehicle and trailer hire and moving supplies. In December 2013, National Storage listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) forming National Storage REIT (NSR), the first publicly listed independent, internally managed and fully integrated owner and operator of self storage centres in Australia. Australia - The Prime Storage Strategy:The Prime Storage strategy focuses on developing new self storage centres in the major inner city population centres of Australia and New Zealand, where the demand for premium quality self storage is expected to generate superior returns. The Prime strategy brings together the development expertise of USSFM and the management and operational expertise of National Storage to identify and develop industry leading centres with features intended to produce enduring value. USSFM investors' and NSR’s interests are aligned with NSR having a 24.9% investment in the portfolio, and operational performance fees linked to maximising total investment returns to investors. The Prime Storage strategy is targeting sustainable returns for investors through capital appreciation, from the exposure to the entire investment cycle from development through to operations, and resulting income distributions. |
